“Test ideas by experiment and observation, build on those ideas that pass the test, reject the ones that fail. Follow the evidence wherever it leads and question everything. Accept these terms, and the cosmos is yours.” – Neil deGrasse Tyson

Hi, I’m dana.

I am an artist living and working in Los Angeles. My work is a meditation on accepting the human experience within the cosmos and moving forward by putting together pieces of the past. In search of balance between control and chance, I use materials as metaphors to explore themes of time, memory, grief, support and healing. Loss, growth and transformation all leave behind memories that are powerfully symbolic. Materials with these inherent qualities, such as salt, sodium borate, copper, steel, gauze, plaster, gilding and patinas are all intrinsic in my work.
