Hi, I’m dana.
I am an artist living and working in Los Angeles. My work is a meditation on the human experience in an attempt to understand our relationships to one another and to the natural world. In search of balance between control and chance, I use materials as metaphors to explore themes of time, grief, change, acceptance and healing. Loss, growth and transformation all leave behind memories that are powerfully symbolic. Materials with these inherent qualities, such as copper, iron, natural pigments, salt, plaster, gilding and patinas are all intrinsic in my work.
